Sarah Graalman is a writer, make-up artist, and performer in NYC. Her stories and essays are published in This Land Press, where she’s written extensively about her life as a transplanted Okie. She’s performed over 30 original pieces throughout NYC, and was dubbed by Time out New York as ‘a story-teller extraordinaire.’ For over two years, she performed with Mamma Rice n Friends (which was a cabaret in the spirit of Pee Wee’s Playhouse, in Brooklyn) where she wrote and performed a new story each month.

Sarah co-wrote and co-stars in Destructo Snack, USA with Theresa Buchheister, which has had successful runs at Dixon Place, Incubator Arts Project, and The Silent Barn. New York Arts writes “Destructo opens up a magical space within which desires and fantasies—possibly forbidden—are allowed to spill across the stage in all their messiness and confusion’. Sarah is currently workshopping her solo show “So I Went to Budapest” after performing a portion of it in ‘For Roots and Loins’ at Dixon Place in 2013.
As a make-up artist, her work has appeared on Bravo, BBC, BET, QVC, NY1, NBC, and in publications such as Cosmoplitan, New York Magazine, Paper, Rolling Stone, Glamour, and Martha Stewart Living. From Cosmo and Maxim-girls to former Vice President Al Gore, Sarah’s work and clients stretch from one end of the spectrum to the next. Sarah’s make-up work readily feeds her writing work- It is all cyclical.
