Joe is a writer, performer and 2-time Moth StorySlam winner who has told stories at the Magnet Theater, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Music Hall of Williamsburg and other stages, bars and living rooms throughout the country.  His story Haunted, Abandoned, Insane was featured on The Moth Podcast.
His first solo show, Joe Charnitski’s Funeral, premiered in New York City in the summer of 2016, in association with The Tank, was a part of the 2017 NYC FRIGID Festival (where it was named as a Best of Fest Best Bet) and the 2017 Capital Fringe Festival in Washington, D.C. (where it received an extended run after being named Best of Fringe).
His new solo show, Joe Charnitski: An Actual Patriot, premiered at the 2017 Gotham Storytelling Festival in New York City.

Previously, Joe was the Associate Producer of the short film anthology series Exposure on Syfy.
Joe’s last name is in the Polish National Anthem. True story.His stories have been featured on The Moth Podcast and the PBS series Stories From the Stage
